Presented by Platform at The Bread & Roses Theatre, 'The Alternative Seagull' tells the hilarious tale of a cast of misfits, lead by a director dangerously close to the edge of madness, who attempt to stage a production of Chekhov's masterpiece 'The Seagull'...

Nina's trying to be taken seriously as an actress, though she's still struggling to pronounce Chekhov's name, Trepliov believes in the play with all of his soul, but can't quite deal with the director's 'diverse, ensemble' vision and Trigorin's intense connection to the universal truth behind the inevitable ambiguity of life frequently causes him to miss his cues...

Undeterred, they stumble blindly on, until the director, unable to find an actual seagull, presents them with the 'alternative seagull' -  leading them to stage 'The Badger - A Comedy by Anton Chekhov'!
